2020 Toward Zero Deaths Conference

October 20-21, 2020
Duluth Entertainment Convention Center
Duluth, Minnesota

About the Conference

This conference provides a forum for sharing information on best practices in engineering, enforcement, education, and emergency medical/health services and for identifying new approaches to reducing the number of traffic fatalities and life-changing injuries on Minnesota roads.

For general information about the conference, including topics covered, intended audience, and the annual awards presentation, please visit the statewide conference page.

The conference will still occur as scheduled on October 20–21, 2020. We have no plans to cancel or postpone the conference at this time, but we will be closely monitoring all developments related to COVID-19. Minnesota TZD is following the latest guidance from state health officials and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as it relates to participation in our events. The health and safety of our participants, presenters, and staff is our top priority.

A conference brochure with a detailed program schedule and registration materials will be distributed in late summer.

Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits, CPS Continuing Education Units (CEUs), EMS CEUs, POST credits, and Professional Development Hours (PDHs) will be available for conference attendance.

CPS Scholarships

The Minnesota Child Passenger Safety Taskforce offers scholarships to certified CPS technicians, proxies, or instructors, in good standing, who are unable to attend the TZD conference due to financial constraints. Full or partial scholarships are available, based on financial need. To apply, complete and submit the application form (PDF) by August 4, 2020.

The conference is offered by the Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths Program and the Minnesota Departments of Public Safety, Transportation, and Health. The conference is hosted by the University of Minnesota's Center for Transportation Studies and facilitated by the College of Continuing Education.
