About the Summit

This free, daylong summit will feature leading experts presenting on drug mitigation, drug use (legal and illegal) and its potential impact on driving, and upcoming trends, challenges, and countermeasures to this ever-evolving issue. As roadway safety advocates, we welcome you to attend the summit and join us in the process of building a common-knowledge foundation from which we can all proceed.

As an attendee, you’ll:

  • Gain insight on how the legalization of recreational marijuana has impacted traffic safety in Colorado.
  • Learn what drugs and trends are hot in the market right now (locally and nationally) and understand how they are affecting our communities.
  • Be introduced to prevention techniques and community organization partnership opportunities.
  • Gain a better understating of how the court/legal process works to help strengthen traffic stops and lower the risk of a case being dismissed.
  • Have more clarity on usage, possession, and distribution of edibles in Minnesota.
  • Learn about Oral Fluid Roadside testing and its capabilities.

Event Goals

  • Educate law enforcement officers, elected officials, and the traffic safety community on the current drugged driving trends, legal protocol, and roadway issues both in Minnesota and nationwide so they have a better understanding of current problems and what could be on the horizon.
  • Equip officers with the knowledge to confidently take a case from a traffic stop all the way through the court process, resulting in conviction.

Who Should Attend

  • Law enforcement officers
  • Elected officials
  • Roadway safety professionals
  • Judges, attorneys, and prosecutors
  • EMS practitioners
