The event featured lively engagement and interactive virtual activities to help us think through how TZD might look in the future. Attendees also heard about the latest happenings in traffic safety in the Metro region.

The event, a joint virtual workshop for the South Central and Southwest regions, featured lively engagement and interactive virtual activities to help us think through how TZD might look in the future. Attendees also heard about the latest happenings in traffic safety in the South Central and Southwest regions.

The 2021 workshop focused on the structure and design of the next chapter of Minnesota TZD… TZD 2.0! The event, a joint virtual workshop for the East Central and West Central regions, featured lively engagement and interactive virtual activities to help us think through how TZD might look in the future. Attendees also heard about the latest happenings in traffic safety in the East and West Central regions.
This presentation explored how connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) and other technologies are changing the way we advance transportation safety, equity, and the five E's. Attendees heard about some of the work the state, cities, and counties are doing to plan and prepare for these technologies, including the new CAV Innovation Alliance and some CAV pilot projects. In addition, presenters discussed some of the uncertainty regarding whether these technologies will ultimately advance our TZD goals.
This event featured traffic safety leaders from several states discussing their experiences keeping traffic safety stakeholders engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic, when many outreach programs have been suspended. They shared the many ways they’re creatively adjusting their traffic safety outreach, such as weekly parent/student webinars, truck safety virtual modules, social media campaigns, CPS programs, engineering projects, PSA developments, and much more.
This annual workshop helps facilitate Minnesota TZD's goal of creating a collaborative, comprehensive, and regional approach to reducing traffic deaths and severe injuries.
